Our first award. Small in size, unforgettable in meaning.
Our first trophy was small enough to fit quietly on a desk.
Luckily, we knew how to photograph it properly.
We will never forget receiving it — not only because it was the first, but because getting there was a film in itself.
Our client, Mowi Poland, the Polish branch of the world’s largest producer of Atlantic salmon, invited us to London for the Employer Brand Management Awards gala. The film was recognised in the category Best Communication of the Employer Brand to the Internal Audience, receiving a Highly Commended distinction.
The plan was simple: fly from Gdańsk, arrive in London, attend the gala.
Of course, the flight was cancelled.
With a lot of determination — and some help from LOT Polish Airlines — we managed to reroute through Warsaw and land directly at Heathrow. The gala had already started. The table was waiting. The client was looking around, wondering where we were.
One floor above, the film’s director Kriz Barvsson and production manager Dorota Palmer were changing from travel clothes into formal wear in the bathroom.
Because the award was “only” a distinction, Kriz made the client a promise that evening: give us time, and next time we will bring you gold.
